Stadium Lighting Upgrades at French Field
Lights Inc installed new 70-foot pole lights, energy-efficient LED stadium fixtures, and a new lighting control system at French Field in Kent, WA — a full stadium lighting overhaul for one of South King County’s busiest athletic venues.
The Challenge
French Field is a multi-purpose stadium adjacent to Kent-Meridian High School, serving four Kent School District high schools for football, soccer, and track. The venue also hosts community events, youth athletics, and semi-professional sports.
The existing lighting had reached end of life. Fixtures were inconsistent, energy costs were climbing, and maintenance calls were increasing. Any replacement needed to deliver uniform light for competitive play, integrate programmable controls, and get done without disrupting the district’s schedule.
Our Stadium Lighting Solutions
Our lighting and electrical team handled the full scope:
- 70-Foot Pole Installation: New steel poles positioned around the stadium perimeter for broad, even coverage across the entire playing surface.
- LED Stadium Fixtures: High-output LEDs replaced the legacy system, delivering brighter illumination at significantly lower energy consumption.
- Programmable Control System: Facility managers can now adjust lighting levels and switch between full-field game lighting and reduced practice configurations from a centralized control.
Work was sequenced around the school district’s game and practice schedule to keep the facility operational throughout the project.
